Arturo Blanco & Alegria Colon established Bmasc architects in 1998, headquartered in Avila (Spain). Their career is focused in three complementary fields: profession, research and teaching at the ETSAM (Architecture School, University of Madrid) and at the ESAYT
(Architecture School, Camilo Jose Cela University, Madrid)
They have actively participated in several design competitions, wining more than twenty awards, and their work has been well recognized, wining the “Castilla y Leon” Architecture Prize three times (2002, 2006, 2009), and finalists four times. They placed third in the IV AETG
Architecture Prize (2004) and were finalists at the III Enor Architecture Prize (2007), the 1st
ARQAno Architecture Prize (2008) and at the 1st“Living With Wood-FAD” Architecture Prize. They also won the 2006 Design Vanguard by Architectural Record from the American Institute of Architects, New York, to their distinguished trajectory.
Their work has been published in various books, monographs and specialized magazines in Europe, America and Asia, giving lectures in several Universities and professional forums in Spain and USA.
